One of the biggest investment that a person would do in his/her life is owning a car.And most of them would take years to pay off the price of the car. That is why you have to make sure to take care of the car you bought so that it would be money well spent and can last for a long time.In this article we are going to talk about some ways you can do that.

One of the things you can do to keep your car in good shape is to regularly change its oils. Hard to believe that a simple thing like an oil change can have a huge effect but it does.  In my Escondido auto repair shop I have seen how cars that do regular oil changes last longer.  It makes sense because oil is what helps the engine run.Changing oils would definitely result to keeping your car in good shape.

Another thing you can do to make your car last longer is to do regular tune ups. This is an often overlooked part of maintaining your car that is important in making your car’s life longer.  I recommend all my clients of my Carlsbad auto repair shop to at least do it once a year. Mainly because when you do a tune up you get to really look into the whole car and make sure it has everything it needs.

Finally you want to be easy on driving your car.Your car is very expensive so you might as well take very good care of it while you are driving. If you don’t drive well then it will affect the longevity of your car.But it does not hurt your car when you drive easy.  It is simple advice but it is advice I give all my clients of my San Marcos transmission repair shop.  If they treat their car right their car will treat them right by lasting a long time.

If you abide by the tips mentioned above then you can have a long lasting car.

There are a lot of changes as we go from summer into winter.Obviously, one of them is the weather. But do you know that our cars are affected also by weather change?  It seems that there are more problems in the winter with cars.Your car would have a great chance of breaking down if you live in a city with a harsh weather. In this article we would be talking about how weather can affect your car’s performance.

In my Escondido auto repair service the biggest cold weather problem are dead batteries. The reason for this is because when it is cold your battery has more work to do.And that would result to it running harder.Your headlights are used more because the daylight is shorter in winter time.  Plus the heater takes more energy than an air conditioner. So to prevent battery problems you must always look at your batteries if they are in good condition before going out in harsh weather.

During a cold weather frozen fuel lines is another prevalent auto problem.  This isn’t a big auto problem for my Carlsbad auto repair service.  But this is a headache for car owners in cities with very cold weather.  What happens is if you let your car run low on fuel condensation forms. And it would freeze when the weather is cold and would stop the fuel from flowing. The best way to prevent this from happening is to always fill your gas tank full.

Tire pressure is another one of those problems when it is cold.  Cold weather will make tires lose pressure.  This isn’t a good thing because low pressured tires get balder faster.Bald tires is not good especially when the roads are icy or wet.So this problem is a serious one because it can be fatal. So you must make it a point also to always check the pressure of the tires of your car.

So those are some of the most common auto problems during cold season. You can prevent some of the problems if you can just do those tips. And if the weather is very cold you do not want to encounter those problems.

A common occurrence for most people in this economy is the need to save money.  Everybody wants to find as many ways to save money.  One way that often gets overlooked is taking care of your car. Most people look at it as something that costs money.Instead they should understand it as investment.  Because if they invest in taking care of their car it will save them money.  Plus there car will last longer which will save them more money. It could help them keep their cars for much longer instead of having to buy a new one.

So here are a few things you can do to save money on auto repair expenses.  In my San Marcos auto repair service I always advise my clients to do regular tuneups. If they do take a little bit of time to change any old spark plugs, plus check the fluids it will help.It will benefit the car’s engine and cause it to last longer.Another thing it is going to cause it to run for a longer period of time.

Another piece of advise I give my clients of my Carlsbad transmission repair service shop is to take care of their transmission. The transmission is a part of the car that costs a lot of money to fix.  Plus it is a part of the car that is easily damaged. So the top way to make sure you care for your transmission is to go easy on it while you drive.Do not attempt to change gear while the car is in motion.  Plus you want to make sure that their is adequate transmission fluid.A ruined transmission in the end will cost thousands of dollars to fix for the car owner. The thing that will work the best for you to do is to care for it now.

So those are a couple of things you can do to have your car last longer. As previously stated you are going to spend the money now.Because if you do, in the long run you will be saving money.  It has been proven time after time with my clients of my Carlsbad auto repair service shop.  As with anything fixing something is always more expensive then making sure it doesn’t break.

One of the most expensive parts of the car to fix is the transmission. A damaged transmission could cost as much as several thousand dollars. The sad thing about this is that it could have been avoided.  Of course you can completely avoid all car problems. But your chances of avoiding it would greatly increase your if you follow the 3 tips that we will discuss.

So first thing you want to do is pay attention to your car. This tip is given free but you should make sure that you do it regularly. When I say pay attention to your car what I mean is to look out for leaking fluids. Are the gears shifitng roughly? Those are some signs of problems with your transmission. All my clients of my San Marcos auto repair always get a list of what they should look out for between maintenance.

Second tip is also free.It is also something that you can control. That is, taking care of your cars by driving well.A lot of people don’t take care of their cars when they are driving and they drive it hard. They don’t realize that they need to take care of it to avoid costly problems.  A lot of the times the cars that need to be repaired in my Carlsbad auto repair shop you can tell which cars weren’t taken care of.And it also means that they spend more money on repairs than those who regularly take their cars in for check ups.So do the correct thing and regularly maintain your cars.

Final tip does cost money. But spending money in following this advice would give you a lot savings in the long run.And that would be preventive maintenance. You should bring your car in for regular check-ups.It’s just like a person going to a doctor for a general checkup of his health.  Same thing take your car in to keep it running great. And in that way you can avoid problems by solving them early on. And you can catch problems early. The earlier you detect problems, of course, the less money you have to shell out on repairs.

So use these tips wisely.  It is what I give to all my clients of my Carlsbad auto repair. It will save them a lot of money.

One of the most costly to be replaced parts of your car is the transmission. Sometimes replacing the automatic transmission is more expensive than replacing the car.So, armed with that knowledge car owners should be more careful of their cars. One way you can do that is by paying attention to what’s happening to your car. What I mean to say is that there are signs to tell you if there is something going on with your transmission. Because repairing minor problems is better and cheaper than full blown damages.

The first sign that you can easily see and look out for is a leak.  A lot of times I have cars brought into my Escondido auto repair shop where the problem started with a simple leak. You should be on the lookout for red leaks. If you see any red fluids leaking from your car then that comes from your transmission. And if your transmission is low on fluids damages can happen. If you find out that your car is leaking red fluids immediately fiill your car up with transmission fluids.  Then take it to a shop to have the leak fixed.

Another thing that you must be on the watch for are noises and vibrations coming from the transmission of your car.  From my experience running my Oceanside transmission repair shop those noises are a sign of a couple of things. It could be an indication of low fluid level.  Or it could be a sign of damaged transmission cables.  Immediately have your car looked at for those problems.

Finally, you should always be on the lookout for an overheating transmission. That will be your biggest hint that there is a problem with your transmission. I see all the time cars brought into my Oceanside auto repair shop that had that problem. Most of the cars were brought in too late. So, instead of undergoing a minor repair only it became a major repair.

You can avoid major expenses if you just follow those steps and observe your car.It is a simple task and it can save you a lot on expenses and repairs.

One of the most costly repairs you can have for your car is the transmission. It is a major part of your vehicle.  Taking care of it is very important.By doing some maintenance on your car you will end up saving a lot of money.  Since you can’t fix it yourself here are some ways to check it at home.By having some of the checking done at home you can see if it needs to be brought in.

First off since I own a Escondido auto repair shop I know how expensive transmission repairs can be.  So I always tell my clients to check a couple of things first. This way you can double check to see if it really needs to be brought in.First thing they can check is the fluid. The fluid needs to be real clear. If the fluid is dark or black that is an indication of a problem and they have to bring their car in.

Second thing they can check at home is to check the gear shifting. You accomplish this by simply moving the gears from park to drive.Or you can shift it from park to reverse. What you are trying to see is if the gears do the shifting smoothly. What you hope doesn’t happen is a jerking motion.  If you do have jerking that is a sign that something is wrong with your tranmission.  In my Oceanside transmission repair shop this is one of the big signs of transmission problems.  A lot of cars that come in have this very problem.

Lastly you can see if there could be any leaking of your transmission fluid.  You once again check this with your dipstick. But you won’t be able to tell unless you do this checking regularly.  I advise all my customers in my Oceanside auto repair shop to always check your fluids.People know how to check for oil.But their transmission fluid is something they need to check also. This allows you to know if their is any leaking of fluid.

If you perform these steps on your car you are making sure your transmission stays in good condition.

One of the most expensive parts of the car to be repaired is the transmission. In general like most of your car they are built well.  But it can be easily broken and very expensive to fix.So you should make sure that you regularly maintain the transmission of your vehicle. With that in mind let’s look at some signs of transmission problems.

First signs of problems with the transmission is usually the fluids.  If you go to check the fluid with a dipstick it can give you a sign. If you notice that the fluid level is always low then that might be a sign of a leak.If the fluid has a burnt smell or is dark in color then that is a sure sign of problems. So to be sure that your car does not suffer any major problems with the transmission make sure that you check your fluids regularly. If you notice any of thesse signs you must immediately go into an auto repair shop.  I catch a lot of transmission problems early in my Escondido transmission repair shop with these signs alone.

Another sign of problems for your car’s transmission is when you shift it into drive and there is a delay. If you shift it and it does not get into gear immediately then that’s a sign of a problem. Delay of engagement is what they call that problem. This could be a sign that the transmission is too worn or some other problem. I have all my clients take it into my Escondido auto repair shop anytime they get the delayed engagement problem.

Last sign of problem that I know of is when you shift the gears and it is jerky then that would be another sign of problems to come. All the shifitng done when one is driving should not be jerky and should not slip.If your car jerks everytime you shift gear then that would be a sure sign of a worn out transmission. I catch a lot of problems early in my Oceanside transmission repair shop when this happens.  By catching it early a customer can save a lot of money in repairs.
