One of the reasons why I decided to want to become a Medical Transcriptionist is that I’m really interested in the medical industry. Another reason is that I want to be able to help people by doing something that I love to do. I also want to become a Medical Transcriptionist because my grandmother died from cancer, and I just feel like if I become associated with a medical related career, then I’ll feel like I’m helping out in some way. I know that it might not make any sense to some people, but that’s just how I feel. And it would make me feel a lot better if I can make a career in the medical field. Some advantages of working as a Medical Transcriptionist would be being able to do medical transcription work at home.

I’ve never had a job before, and the main reason why I haven’t been able to work is because I have medical problems. My legs and my feet get sore after I’ve been standing or doing anything for a long period of time. If I’m able to work at home and make the same amount of money or even more, then I’ll do it. It’s much easier for me to sit down for a long period of time, than it would be to stand up. So for me, having a career as an online medical transcriptionist would be amazing.

I’m interesting in training with Future MT, because I feel like this program would train me to be the best that I can be. The live mentoring is a great reason to train with Future MT. You’ll be there every step of the way, helping me to become a great Medical Transcriptionist. Also being able to have a textbook with me at all times including actual writings from doctors who have been working with medical transcription for years. That will be a big help, and I don’t know of how many other online courses offer that kind of support. The interactive CD-ROM is also a key element that will help me this career. I can listen to and transcribe without a special machine. The CD learning activities would also help, that would make learning more fun, and learning should be fun, not boring. The more fun learning is, the more likely you are to do well at your career in the future. SN:0MA9N2ESY

It’s also amazing what this CD will help you do. You can practice transcribing, so you’ll know exactly what to do when you would have to do it for real. I really like that part the most because I’m sure I will need all the help I can get. There are a lot of different activities that will help be to become the best MT that I can possibly be. I love that about the program. Some goals that I would like to achieve are getting a great MT education in the next couple of years. Then after I have an MT education I would like to find a great career in the MT industry. I believe that if I go through this program for MT, that I will find a great MT career. I’ve been searching for a good program for a while now and this is the best program that I have found so far. I would really appreciate being chosen for this full scholarship because I really don’t have the money to do this program right now, and I probably won’t for many years from now.

For the past 25 years I have worked as a nurse in the clinical setting taking care of many sick, frail, elderly patients in a long term care/geriatric setting. My devotion and commitment to my work as a nurse has been very rewarding and at the same time physically and mentally draining. I recently left my job of 25 years and also relocated to a different state. It has been difficult deciding where to work and what kind of work to continue to do in nursing. I believe I am at the point in my life and career when I can with full confidence say I am ready for a change.

I have intermittently contemplated a career change in the past 2 years, and medical transcription has been one of the professions I have thought may be the right fit for me. I no longer wish to spend the many long hours in the clinical setting, but I do wish to be able to use my medical background to do a job in which I have the option of working at home or in an office. The advantages of working at home are very appealing, and I believe will suit me very well. The fact that I will not have to commute to work every day and can work a full time job from my home computer in my “own” home is a major incentive for me.

Working without the pressures of supervisors, coworkers, and office politics is another great advantage of doing medical transcription work at home. I have always preferred to work independently. I actually spent 21 years of my nursing career as a night nurse responsible for 60 patients and making decisions/judgments regarding their care and comfort mostly on my own. The program which you offer appears to be very concise, easy to follow and all inclusive. The self paced, home study idea sounds great and will be perfect for my needs as I am no longer looking for a classroom education program. SN:0MA9N2ESY

I am encouraged by the addition of the live mentoring and trained professional mentors which you offer with your program. To have a written text with the CD rom adds to the resourcefulness of your program. Finally the “real life” transcription experience and the job assistance which you offer as part of the course of study gives me hope that I will be learning exactly what I need to secure jobs with medical transcription employers. I am happy that I found your website and all the information that you offer about a career in medical transcription. I am at a very exciting time in my life. A career change is, I am sure, never an easy endeavor but with a little courage, persistence, and a great attitude, I believe it can be a successful endeavor for any one. I hope to use your website and the other websites which you are affiliated with to continue on my path to a new and exciting career as a medical transcriptionist.

Many answers enter my mind when asked the question why I want to become a medical transcriptionist.  First and foremost would have to be my family.  I have a husband and three wonderful children who are all under the age of 7.  I would enjoy more free time to enjoy my kids while they are still young.  Just the other day I heard another mother say “I can’t believe that I have already spent half my time with my daughter that I’m going to get”.  Not knowing exactly what the woman meant I asked her “what do you mean by that”?  She replied by saying “my daughter is nine and I have had her for half the time she will live with me.”  That really hit me deep to think that my twin daughters are six years old and like that mother, me and my husband have almost spend half our time with them.  Where the time has went and what have we as a family done?  Then I thought what if I had more time to give.  But how?  Then the answer came to me, why not look into medical transcription work at home.  I am and have for the past eight years worked as a physical therapist assistant (PTA)and have a good background for the medical jargon, MT should be a easy transition for me.

Like I just stated earlier, I am currently a PTA and love what I do, however I have noticed that in the last few months that I am getting stuck in a downward spiral at work, and may need a change of environment.  Then the big question hits, what, where, and how.  We are not financially stable enough for me to quit and return back to school or when would I find the time.  About a year ago, I tried to return to school and become a earlier education teacher online, but that was about impossible with a full time PTA and mother of three, I never had enough time for hitting the books.  The most appealing thing about getting a MT certified is the fact I can learn at my pace, no deadlines.  What is more perfect for a working mother?

At home medical transcription jobs would give me the opportunity to have a flexible schedule and continue to hold a job as a PTA and give me the chance to only work as a PTA at a PRN basis and give me that well deserved break I am looking for and need.

Where do I see my self as a MT?  Hum, good question.  I see my career as a MT to start of gradual then grow into something much more.  Hopefully given my family the relief from stress of the everyday struggles of the same old thing each day for the last eight years.  First step would be to obtain a certificate, get a job and hopefully build a new career.  One of the first steps after I start on receiving my certificate would be to help others along my path to freedom. In closing, I have chose becoming a MT for the following reason, more time with family, closely related to current job and flexibility of schedule.   Plus the ability to learn at my own pace.
